Serving Heritage Pointe Homeowners
Heritage Pointe is one of the highest-end residential communities in our service area. Centred around the Heritage Pointe Golf Club, the community sits in the MD of Foothills between Okotoks and Calgary, with custom homes on larger acreage-style lots, mature landscaping, and a distinctive high-end character. Most Heritage Pointe homes were built between 1995 and 2015, with substantial later additions and infill on individual lots.
The renovation conversation in Heritage Pointe is different from typical suburban renovation work. Homes are larger (often 4,000 to 7,000+ square feet) with higher ceilings, more detailed finish work, and floor plans designed for entertaining and family life. The original specifications were already at the high end of builder-grade, but 15 to 25 years on, even high-end builder finishes have aged. Heritage Pointe homeowners are usually investing in updates that bring the home to a current premium standard rather than fixing low-end original work.
Why Heritage Pointe Homeowners Choose Parkside
Heritage Pointe homeowners typically interview multiple contractors and select based on three things: trade quality, finish detail standards, and project management discipline. Our value proposition aligns with all three. Our trade crew has worked alongside us for years and includes specialists who can deliver high-detail finish work: proper trim mitres, integrated appliance install, complex tile patterns, custom glass, and specialty paint finishes. Our project management is documented and consistent project to project. Our finish-detail standard is calibrated by the work we deliver to clients across the price range, not just by a Heritage Pointe project here and there.
Our 10-minute proximity from Okotoks is also meaningful. Heritage Pointe homeowners value the kind of supervision and responsiveness that requires a local contractor, and our office is closer to most Heritage Pointe homes than any Calgary-based competitor.
Popular Heritage Pointe Renovations
Whole-house renovation
The most common Heritage Pointe scope. Comprehensive update of kitchen, all bathrooms, main-floor flooring throughout, paint, trim, lighting, and often basement re-development. Many projects include exterior elements (patio renovation, exterior trim refresh, sometimes window replacement). These are 6 to 10 month projects with investment typically $400,000 to $800,000+.
Kitchen and main-floor renovation
Heritage Pointe kitchens are often large (400 to 700+ square feet with adjacent walk-in pantries, butler's pantries, and mudroom integrations). Renovation scope usually includes custom cabinetry from a local Calgary or Okotoks shop, slab counters in stone or quartzite, integrated appliance suites (often Miele, Sub-Zero, or Wolf), large island with seating for 6+, and custom lighting design. Investment $150,000 to $350,000.
Primary suite and ensuite rebuild
Heritage Pointe primary suites typically include a large bedroom, separate sitting area, walk-in closet (often two), and generous ensuite. Renovation scope usually includes complete ensuite rebuild: large tiled walk-in shower, freestanding tub, double vanity, separate water closet, heated tile floors, and frequently a steam shower or dedicated dressing area. Walk-in closets get custom millwork redesign. Investment $80,000 to $180,000.
Basement entertainment build
Heritage Pointe basements are typically 1,500 to 2,500+ square feet. Builds often include home theatre, gym, primary entertainment area with wet bar or full kitchen, guest suite, wine room, and sometimes additional specialty rooms (golf simulator, music studio). Investment $150,000 to $350,000.
Heritage Pointe-Specific Considerations
The community has architectural and design covenants administered by the Heritage Pointe HOA. Exterior changes (siding, roof colour, paint colour, fence styles, outdoor structures) are subject to architectural review. Interior renovations are not covered. We coordinate any required HOA review during the project planning phase if the scope includes exterior elements.
Heritage Pointe properties are in the MD of Foothills, which has slightly different permit requirements than the Town of Okotoks. Building permits for major renovations and additions go through the MD office and generally require more detailed documentation than town permits. We handle the entire submission and inspection process.
Some Heritage Pointe homes have premium mechanical systems: geothermal, in-floor heating, integrated home automation, advanced ventilation. Renovation work on these homes coordinates with the existing systems rather than replacing them, and that coordination is part of the project planning.
Featured Heritage Pointe Projects
Recent Heritage Pointe work includes a comprehensive whole-house renovation (kitchen, four bathrooms, main-floor flooring, basement entertainment build), a primary suite expansion with new ensuite and walk-in closet, and a kitchen rebuild with butler's pantry addition. Photos and references are available during the estimate.

Learn moreFrequently Asked Questions About Renovating in Heritage Pointe
How far is Heritage Pointe from your office?
Heritage Pointe is about 10 minutes north of our Okotoks office, one of the closest communities in our service area. The proximity means same-day site visits, fast response during construction, and flexible scheduling.
Are Heritage Pointe homes typical or unusual to renovate?
Heritage Pointe homes are larger and more detailed than typical urban suburban builds. Walk-in pantries, butler's pantries, double-height great rooms, formal dining, and detailed primary suites are common. Renovation work on these homes tends to be larger in scope and longer in timeline than equivalent urban projects.
Are Heritage Pointe acreages renovated through the Town of Okotoks or the MD?
Heritage Pointe is in the MD of Foothills rather than the Town of Okotoks. Permits and inspections go through the MD office. The process is slightly different from town permits, generally requiring more documentation for any work affecting the building footprint, septic, or well systems.
How does the high-end character of the community affect renovations?
Material specifications tend to be higher: slab marble or quartzite counters, integrated appliances, custom millwork throughout, large-format porcelain, custom glass, premium hardware. The trade quality matches the material specifications, and the construction window is typically longer to accommodate the higher detail level. We deliver to that standard regularly.
Is Heritage Pointe a good area for whole-house renovations?
Yes. Many Heritage Pointe homes are now 15 to 25 years old, the original owners are looking to invest in updates that match the home's scale, and the comprehensive whole-house renovation is the most common scope we deliver in this community.
